Job Description

Our client, a leading industrial supplier (import/export) is looking for a Financial Controller (Finance Specialist) to join their finance team.  

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Performing of creditors reconciliations.
  • Assist in managing debtors / debtors’ payments
  • Processing of development/project/ad-hoc operating expense invoices.
  • Loading of payments onto the online banking platform.
  • Accounting for the off-balance sheet open forex positions (Accounting for hedges – both fair value and cash flow hedges)
  • CFC accounts
  • Preparation of general journals.
  • Managing of petty cash.
  • Payroll and employee records
  • Inventory Management
  • Monthly VAT submissions.
  • Calculation of provisional tax..
  • Attending to SARS queries.
  • Preparation of annual budgets..
  • Attending to statutory auditors’ queries/requests.
  • Attending to internal auditors’ queries/requests.
  • Assist with monthly Flash reports.
  • Assist with quarterly Board reports.
  • Prepare annual financial reporting packs.
  • Assist with drafting/review of annual financial statements.
  • Reporting to a European office on a monthly basis

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BCom Accounting degree 

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 6 years in a similar position
  • Knowledge of Sage Evolution and SAP would be beneficial

REPORTING:
